To attain this end AcctWeb has had to put together a range of services and strategies that cover what an Accounting Practice needs to gain greater efficiencies and usefulness from the Internet. This includes basics such as ADSL and web site construction but quite a bit has been developed from scratch. For example: - AcctWeb developed a means of web site construction that genuinely puts ownership, for the first time, into the hands of the web site owner's normal staff.
- Also rather than just supplying the simplest web site tools AcctWeb also supplies articles to Accountants and/or sales training for the sales team in how to use a site to remove the need for so many brochures and flyers.
- AcctWeb even developed a secure FTP service that solves a problem that's existed with the Internet since it began, that is, trying to send large important attachments via e-mail. Very problematic, simply didn't happen, and was always very insecure but AcctWeb's fixed them all. A web site will only work if it’s as easy to use for someone in a Practice as it is to writing a letter. This means unskilled staff can work with it but this will still only happen if the site’s part of a strategy. The Links to the Right are an outline of what Accounting Practices can expect to consider in 2004 when looking to properly integrate the Internet into their day to day operations. We use the word integration, as this technology should not be adding to work load, rather replacing current methods with ones that are more efficient and less costly. These strategies are based on AcctWeb's experience from working on the Internet needs of over 350 Practices. Practices ranging from sole Practitioners to those with over 200 staff. All have individual needs but there are common threads based on size and set out here is what we've learned. Our Internet focus often leads to a more complete solution than that developed by others. The reason for this is simple, our only focus is the Internet for Accountants. These strategies are like a checklist. You can do none, one or all of what is suggested but the point is that what is listed is what Accountants are doing now. If done properly, then you will save money and provide better services to your client.
