An Association wanted to have a better method of communicating with it's Members.

At issue is not the volumes of information that web site can contain but how to get members to want to use it.  This Association looked at several alternatives ranging from $1 million to $25,000 and chose the latter.  This was not because of cost but the latter did what they wanted whereas the more expensive options did everything but get members to visit regularly

Like AcctWeb's strategy for Accountants and Businesses, the issue is not the web site but how it fits into the entity's communications strategy compared to the costs involved.  In the latter case there are many that will say they have this matter under control and they might but they employ one or more people full time to effect this end.  At issue is whether this is the best way to spend Member's money if the same can be achieved more cheaply.  Again AcctWeb has been able to do this.

For example, some important information comes into the Association and Members need to know about it immediately.  Currently, adding such information to a web site can be outsourced (an expense and time delay), or have it done in-house by a dedicated resource (again expensive).  Many simply write a letter and post it at $0.50 each (also very expensive).  

With AcctWeb an admin officer, the GM or the Receptionist can add the information to the site.  However, having added it you need Members to read it.  For the latter you never wait for them to visit, rather you go and bring them to the site to read what's o important.  So at no real cost, with no specialist software or database management tools and within 15 minutes the site is updated and the first Member will have read it.
